Whoooo Has Seen the New Paper Quilled Owls?

*EDIT*  Make sure to visit my NEW blog and subscribe to keep updated with paper quilling tips, tricks, inspiration, and free tutorials!

If you’ve been following my etsy shop or my facebook page, you will have noticed the new line of owl jewelry that I have out!  I was really excited to come up with these designs.  I’ve been thinking about making owl designs for at least a couple years!

Since I have also been wanting to work on more tutorials, I was thrilled to also make a tutorial for these adorable designs!  I debuted the jewelry a couple months ago, and finally put the finishing touches on the tutorial today.

So without further ado, here is my tutorial for four different owl designs! Plus, each design comes with instructions on how to make multiple sizes!  Currently is is available in my etsy shop.  Soon I will also have it available on Meylah and elsewhere.

Retro Circle Earrings

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any of my new jewelry pieces!  For awhile last month I was busy working on a wholesale order, so I didn’t have any time to make new pieces for my etsy shop.  In the past couple of weeks I’ve finally had time to make some!  One of my favorite design styles to make are these random retro circle earrings (and pendants!).  These are awesome because they are nearly always one of a kind!  Unless I make a whole bunch of pairs all at once, it’s nearly impossible to make them exactly alike.  I always like one of a kind styles 🙂  Here are two of my most recent retro circle designs!

This aqua and black pair is one of my favorites ever!  There is something special about these two shades of aqua.  Pair them with black and you’ve got a pair of earrings that will turn heads!

Black and silver is another favorite combo!  These are a smaller size than the above earrings, for someone who wants something unique, but smaller.

Finally, the long-awaited and long-worked-on tutorial for these awesome paper quilled animals!  I’ve had several requests for a tutorial for these animals, and finally it is finished!

These paper quilled dolphins, seahorses, elephants, and turtles are great for jewelry (earrings and pendants), magnets, pins, frames, gift cards, and anywhere else you’d like to showcase these cuties!

This detailed pdf tutorial has 18 pages and more than 100 photos!  There is a printable page with the patterns for the dolphin, elephant, and two sizes of seahorse.

Although these designs are more difficult than beginning quilling designs, the instructions are detailed enough that even a beginner (with patience and practice) can make these!

What child is not intrigued by dinosaurs?  What are these mighty creatures who are seen so often in books but never in real life?  I wonder at what age a child truly understands that there used to be dinosaurs on the Earth, but no longer.

Do you have a child who loves dinosaurs?  Is there a dinosaur themed party coming up?  Need to decorate a dinosaur themed greeting card?  Here is your solution!   Use the art of paper quilling to create your own paper quilled dinosaurs!

A lot of work goes on behind the scenes when creating tutorials.  When I am working on tutorials I often feel guilty for not posting more often, as if I’m not doing any work.  But really, it takes a long time!  From creating designs, taking photos, editing photos, compiling photos, writing the tutorial, and so forth.  I feel a great sense of accomplishment once I am able to share all that I have been working on!

So here is my newest tutorial, paper quilled dinosaurs!   These awesome dinosaurs can be used to decorate frames, bookmarks, greeting cards, placecards, door hangers, notebooks, magnets, anything really!  Here are some things that I have used these dinosaurs for:

It’s always an honor when I am contacted by another blog to create a quilling tutorial for their site.  A few weeks ago I was contacted by one of the ladies behind the site fiskateers.com asking if I wanted to post a tutorial on their site.  Of course I did!  I knew exactly which tutorial I wanted to do, but it took  me a few weeks to actually find the time to do it.  With a new baby in the house it hasn’t been easy getting everything done.  But finally I found a day to get it done and it has been posted!  So head on over to fiskateers.com and find out how to create a paper quilled Christmas tree!  This little tree is perfect for greeting cards, gift tags, placecards, etc.
